How can I save a chart I have created in Excel as a .jpg?
Excel, unfortunately, has no feature to save a .jpg. You'll have to do it outside of Excel. Here is your starting point (or something like it).Step one, click anywhere on the chart. You should be able see a visible difference (note the black squares, which means this is a "selected" area).Step two, right click will bring up a menu. Select the "copy" option (you've now copied the graph or highlighted area).Step three, open up a graphics program like MS Paint (Start- Programs - Accessories - Paint) and choose Paste (or Control-V).Last Step, name and save the file as a .jpg.Done.
Shouldn't Gmail give an option to search the type of file (PDF, Excel, JPG, .exe, etc.) in an attachment?
How to Search by File Type in GmailGoogle has some powerful search parameters user can use when looking for something with its search engine, so it's not surprising that it extends this to Gmail. By using "Filetype" operator, user can search through their entire mailbox for all attachments of that file kind. This may drastically cut back the time you must put into finding a specific file format from an email, even if user don't know the name of the sender.Sign in to Gmail with your Gmail account credentials.Place your pointer in the search box next to the Google brand logo. Then type "filename:[file type]" (without the quotes) into the box. For example, if you want to search all the PDF files in your Gmail mailbox, then type "filename:pdf" in that search box. Finally, click the magnifying glass icon or press "Enter" on your keyboard to display the results.

Is it possible to extract the information from, for example a PDF or JPG into an Excel file just by uploading?
Excel can open any file, but that does not mean you will get meaningful data from that exercise. If you know the file format specifications, you can use VBA to parse the data. Note that you will never recover the text in a jpg this way. Jpgs with text are pictures of text. This is the idea behind Captcha. It takes an eyeball to read the writing. I once wrote the VBA to open a MacPaint file and used the cells in the place of pixels. It worked, but MacPaint was B&W graphics.
